The course includes 26 supply-savvy lessons, 17 video tutorials and 9 step-by-step tutorials.
The aim of this course is to give you ideas and techniques using the things you find around you, that you can take away and apply to your own creative processes. Our team were asked to work with commonplace supplies that many mixed media fans will already have in their stash. Everything else is recycled, salvaged, found in your house or sourced inexpensively on the high street. Most of the projects can done with just this core kit (any brand will do):
  • Acrylic paints (a set will make your life easier, but at a minimum you need red, blue, yellow, black and white - using these colours you can mix lots of variants)
  • Gel medium
  • White modelling paste
  • White gesso
  • Permanent black pen
  • White paint pen
  • Black permanent inkpad
  • Mixed media paper or watercolour paper
  • PVA glue
  • Basics like pencil, craft knife, scissors, ruler, paintbrushes
The following supplies are also used in one or two projects: a gel printing plate, brown liquid ink, coloured paint pens, sewing machine (you can always substitute hand-stitching), water-soluble pencil For their finished projects, our designers have added their own favourite supplies, like stamps, stencils, die cuts or chipboard shapes. We haven't included these items in your supply list because they are not required to do the course lessons - you can substitute anything you have in your stash to finish off your creations.
